It’s surreal to think that when I was dreaming of places to go post covid, I would shortly be visiting places that have been high on my list, such as Ett Hem and Heckfield place. It certainly lived up to the hype but there were definitely others that also delivered, such as the newest opening on the Bosphorus, Peninsula Istanbul and the whimsical Parker Palm Springs.
I’m a big believer in writing down my intentions and visualizing them, which has proven time and again the likelihood of it becoming a reality. So, in anticipation of what’s to come, here’s my list for the following year ahead.
The Raffles London at The OWO is one close to my heart as I was involved in the pre-opening advisory board, getting an insider look and sharing insights to help shape the guest experience. Housed in the Old War Office which famously served as Winston Churchill’s office during WWII, I can only imagine the incredible stories and history that reside within these walls. The vast amount of amenities (9 restaurants, 3 bars!) would have me wanting to explore every nook and cranny. In the meantime, I’ll be sure to get the scoop once my client checks in for himself later this year.
If I had to choose an overall favorite brand, it would be without question, Rosewood. Hence, Kona Village which recently opened in Hawaii has been on my radar. I also love Amsterdam so I was thrilled to hear they will be opening this year in 2024. The reason for my love of Rosewood is due to not only the level of service and quality, but they do such a great job in creating a sense of place in all their locations. I never feel like I’m just in a hotel room, and all the little touches reflect the local destination which makes it truly immersive. I can’t name a favorite hotel though but my husband says his is the Hotel de Crillon in Paris and Rosewood Phuket.
There’s been such a demand for wellness getaways that I’m happy to announce SHA Wellness’ expansion into Mexico along with The Ranch in Hudson Valley. This is for those who are committed as both require a minimum 3-4 night stay. I had a client recently return from SHA Wellness and she was amazed to see the transformation within a week. She’s now more sensitive to sugar and has been very mindful of what she puts into her body, a testament to the impactful experiences these wellness retreats offer. Meanwhile, The Ranch Hudson Valley, a welcomed addition to New Yorkers, is inclusive of all exercise levels and offers a daily hike, massages, plant-based meals, and a sense of intimate community. This is one I’m considering for a girls’ getaway, especially with my postpartum mom friends who are hoping to feel one step closer to their old self.
Ever since my clients have raved about Nayara tented camp in Costa Rica, I’ve been looking for comparable options and one that I know will deliver is Naviva, Four Seasons. With just 15 luxury tents amidst 48 acres, it’s as if you’re the only one there. Each experience is tailored to you, and as an all-inclusive resort, I love that you don’t have to overthink or plan ahead. This is definitely luxury glamping at its best.
Last but not least, Mexico has probably been one of my most popular destinations for clients and that comes to no surprise as there is no shortage of amazing properties. Not only that, but the influx of new hotels that come into the scene are unparalleled. I’ve been wanting to visit One&Only Mandarina, but being based in NY, Cancun tends to be a more convenient option for me, hence, I have Etereo on my mind. The whole Kanai complex, which houses Etereo, St. Regis and Edition, which are now all finally open, has something for everyone. For those who have experienced Mayakoba, it’s a great alternative for those looking for something new.
In the meantime, I’d love to hear what’s on everyone else’s wishlist in the comments below. Write down a place so that you’re one step closer to making it happen. 🙂
